In a historic moment for women’s cricket, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged as the champions of the 2024 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Led by captain Smriti Mandhana, the talented RCB team showcased a remarkable performance, securing a convincing 8-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final showdown.
In the final match of the WPL 2024, Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first. However, their hopes were dashed as the entire team collapsed at just 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Shafali Verma played a crucial innings of 44 runs off 27 balls for Delhi, while captain Meg Lanning contributed 23 runs. On the other hand, RCB’s Shreyanka Patil took 4 wickets and Sophie Molineux grabbed 3 wickets, dismantling the Delhi Capitals’ batting lineup.
