Goldy Brar, also known as Satinderjeet Brar, was a notorious gangster based in Canada with a long criminal record. He was wanted by Indian authorities for his involvement in several serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, and drug trafficking. Brar was associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a notorious criminal organization known for its involvement in high-profile crimes, including the murder of police officials.
Recently, Goldy Brar was reportedly shot dead in the United States. The incident occurred at Fairmont and Holt Avenue, leaving Brar and another individual injured. Rival gangsters Arsh Dalla and Lakhbir have claimed responsibility for the shooting, but official confirmation is still pending. The circumstances surrounding his death remain a topic of speculation and confusion.
In May 2022, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Brar by a Faridpur court for the killing of District Youth Congress President Gurlal Singh Pehalwan. Later that same month, on May 29, 2022, Brar allegedly killed Indian singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala, taking responsibility for the shooting in a Facebook post. This incident brought Brar into the spotlight and made him a suspect in Moosewala’s murder.
Sidhu Moosewala, an Indian-Punjabi rapper, was shot dead in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, on May 29, 2022. Initially, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for his murder. However, Goldy Brar later admitted to the crime during a televised interview. He cited Moosewala’s alleged involvement in the killing of Lawrence’s associate, Vicky Midukhera, as the motive behind the murder.
The murder of Sidhu Moosewala intensified the tension between rival gangs, leading to further violence and bloodshed. The circumstances surrounding Goldy Brar’s recent death in the United States remain unclear and subject to speculation.
The Ministry of Home Affairs in India designated Goldy Brar as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This designation was based on his association with Babbar Khalsa International, a listed terrorist organization, as well as his involvement in killings, cross-border activities, arms smuggling, and threatening calls. The Indian government’s decision to designate Brar as a terrorist highlights the perceived threat he posed to national security.
Brar was one of Canada’s most wanted fugitives, with a reward of $50,000 offered by the Bolo Program for information leading to his arrest. His criminal career and involvement in high-profile cases have had a significant impact on the criminal landscape.
Goldy Brar, also known as Satwinderjit Singh, was born in 1994 in Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. His family had a background in law enforcement, which made his descent into a life of crime all the more tragic. After graduating with a BA degree, Brar moved to Canada and pursued remote work from there, maintaining ties to his native Punjab.
Tragically, Brar’s cousin Gurlal Brar was killed outside a nightclub in Chandigarh just last year. It is believed that the Bishnoi gang targeted Gurlal, who was a close associate of Goldy Brar, as retaliation for the death of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pahalwan. These events prompted Brar to reportedly return to Canada in 2021. He had initially entered Canada in 2017 on a student visa.
Goldy Brar’s criminal activities and involvement in high-profile cases have left a lasting impact on both the criminal underworld and the communities affected by his actions. His life serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of a path filled with violence and crime.
