Upon its release in 2021 on Zee5, Comedian Sunil Grover’s web series “Sunflower” received glowing reviews, with one critique describing it as “a captivating experience marked by impeccable acting and direction.” Set in a middle-class neighbourhood, the murder mystery offered a perfect blend of intrigue and humour, with Sunil Grover’s portrayal of Sonu Singh stealing the spotlight. Sonu, seemingly a simple individual, harboured a complexity beneath his seemingly naïve exterior.

The positive reception prompted the creators, Vikas Bahl and season director Navin Gujral, to develop Sunflower Season 2, scheduled for release on March 1st.

Comedian Sunil Grover’s Comeback 2024

Returning to reprise their roles are Comedian Sunil Grover as Sonu, the seemingly clueless suspect, and Ranvir Shorey as Inspector S. Digendra. Joining the cast is Adah Sharma, whose prominence surged following the success of “The Kerala Story,” a sleeper hit in May 2023, also available for streaming on Zee5.

Sunil Grover’s web series “Sunflower” made waves upon its 2021 release on Zee5, earning praise for its stellar performances and adept direction. The acclaim garnered by the first season prompted creators Vikas Bahl and season director Navin Gujral to greenlight a highly anticipated second season, slated for release on March 1st.

Returning to reprise their roles are Sunil Grover as the enigmatic Sonu, who finds himself entangled in yet another murder mystery, and Ranvir Shorey as Inspector S. Digendra.
